- I also believe protesting the intervention at this time is
- counterproductive. It would be nice if an international (well,
- MORE international) peacekeeping operation were doing this job,
- but unfortunately the U.N. was making little good headway towards
- that end. Also, I genuinely believe that President Bush might
- have wished to do this earlier, but simply found the idea of
- dodging more pre-election claims of "globetrotting at the
- expense of domestic matters" unappealing.

- The important thing here is that the food shipments are getting
- through! Not that the WAY they are getting through is not
- quite in accordance with ideology. I commend the US on this
- and wish others would also think about what's important here.
