  29. The following information is copied from brochureds put out by
  30. the North American Vegetarian Society.

  32. "The NAVS has launched the 'VEGETARIAN EXPRESS Fast Food
  33. Campaign" to help prompt 11 of the largest fast food chains
  34. to provide low-fat, no-cholesterol, meat-free, fish-free
  35. dairy-free, low-sodium entrees--meals that would appeal to
  36. the average consumer, the health conscious and those concerned
  37. about the welfare of animals and the environment.  Preferably,
  38. such entrees would have no or minimal amounts of preservatives
  39. as well.

  41. "You can help make vegetarian entrees possible at fast food
  42. restaurants even if you eat only occassional meatless meals.
  43. Send your signature, name and address to:  NAVS, PO Box 72,
  44. Dolgeville NY 13329, and NAVS will count you as a consumer
  45. who wants all-plant vegetarian entrees."

  47. Personally written letters targeted at specific companies,
  48. however, have far more impact than a list of names.  You
  49. can call or write one of the following fast food chains
  50. (listed in IMHO order of importance) to tell them you want
  51. an all-plant entree with no meat, fish, fowl, eggs or
  52. dairy, and little or no preservatives.  Send copies of your
  53. correspondence to NAVS.

  55. NAVS reccomends all letters and calls be upbeat and possitive--
  56. after all, what we want is an upbeat and positive alternative!
