  18. A few months ago, I posted an article detailing my personal experience being
  19. stopped in a Charlotte airport.  I fit the "hippie" part of the profile.

  21. Since this time, I have contacted the ACLU and the Center for Constitutional
  22. Rights.  They haven't been able to do much.  I also filed a Freedom of
  23. Information Act request with the state of North Carolina.  They sent me back
  24. a letter explaining they needed my fingerprints in order to process my
  25. request.
  26.  
  27. We need to start fighting back.  Let's get organized.  I propose two
  28. strategies to get us started.  First, could we get a list of names,
  29. addresses and phone numbers of people interviewed in the article?  Any other
  30. organizations out there that are currently devoting their resources to
  31. combatting these abuses?  Names of people who would be willing to enter a
  32. class action lawsuit?

  34. Second, come up with a fact sheet similar to what CCR came out with a few
  35. years ago.  "What to do if a Drug Agent stops you," or something of the
  36. like.  I'd like to know: what are my rights in an airport?  What do I
  37. legally *have* to disclose?  Basically, I was intimidated into consenting to
  38. let the agents search me.  What sort of tactics can we expect from these
  39. agents?
