  13. after upgrading my box to 16 mb I compiled the newest available emacs-distrib
  14. at home. after compiling and installing this stuff, everything went fine,
  15. until started emacs _without_  -nw.
  16. Popping up in his own window emacs looked fine, and all this mouse-features,
  17. fantastic, but....
  18. using my german keyboard I'd like to type   a  |  (pipe)  or a  @  (at),
  19. so I have to press my  ALT-GR-Button. pressing this damned thing brings
  20. just a   -1~    on my screen.

  22. So the question is:   what's goin' wrong with emacs ??
  23. Just a nifty xmodmap-thing or what ??

  25. If anyone has any idea (really _any_), so please answer via email,
  26. cause I don't wanna lose this great emacs!!
