- I love to see this happen that Amancio turns everything I say into the
- opposite and against me personally. And also note that I did said any word
- about my contributions here, this is expilicitly about somebody elses
- contributions, which I'm really missing named.
-
- What drives me really crazy, most of them time when he posts something,
- he doesn't answer the question asked (see this recent ET4000 vs. ET4000/W32
- thread) instead he tells everybody how great his XS3 is. Besides this, read
- carefully his reply to my posting. What I said was basically:
-
- - He talk on the net as if he was the only one doing XS3 alone
- - The S3's graphics eingine differes only in one register from
- a 8514/A
-
- What he answered was:
-
- - The README contains other names
- - The S3's SVGA registers differ from that of a 8514/A (which is
- natural since the 8514/A has no SVGA registers)
-
- See, what I mean ? There is no relation between questioning and anserwering.
- That's one my crititcs.
-
- >Please note - I'm not trying to take ANYTHING away from Amancio. It's
- >just that Rich's contributions to XFree86, and support of 386BSD, are
- >very large, and tend to be completely overlooked. Amancio has been
- >concentrating on XS3, and Rich has done ALL of the XFree86 work for the
- >last many months. So please give credit where it's due. Amancio's
- >work is great, but so is Rich's.
-
- Implicitely you all seem to strengthen only my point here. Amancio's work
- on XS3 is really great, not doubt about this. But one should also see behind
- the curtain and see there that XS3 is based on a working 8514/A server.
- And doing the 8514/A server from scratch is much more work and deserves
- much more credits than 'just' doing the hw specific initialisation of
- just another mostly 8514/A compatible chipset. I just wanted to remind
- people about this.

-
- PS: My oppionions about Amancio might be pretty much influenced by how
- he articlulates himself in private e-mail communiction about real
- issues. If somebody writes in a technical discussion if he's out of
- arguments 'Fuck you', what would you think of him ?
