- Folks you are always invited to join in the development of XS3.
- The code and the literature to help you develop S3 code is
- publicly available. And, this is not an accident but by design.
- Diamond did offer to at least me to sign a ND agreement and I refuse
- to sign it. Why? Because, I wanted to pursue development on an area
- which allow anyone to help contribute without the bureacratic
- red-tape that some companies subscribe to.
-
- I can not speak for XFree86 which is part of my problem with the
- group, nor am I volunteering to be a spoke person for the group.
- However, I can state that XFree86 charter prohibits them from
- doing accelarated graphics development. And, they will continue
- to operate on this mode till they charter changes. All inquiries
- about this topic should go to the XFree86 group and not me.
-
- The next release of XS3 will be last one. I will assist anyone who
- wishes to take up the responsibility.
-
- This decision is based on the schedule for my next project.
- Both Rich and David have been inform on my desire for a private
- venture. Which is one of the reasons that Rich is responsible
- for the XFree86 development for 386bsd, the other is that I
- chose the route of accelarated graphics development while he
- actively contributed under the umbrella of XFree86.
-
- Additionally, I can not support a group who is in close alliance
- with SGCS. thomas more than once has attack me on public.
- To contribute code to XFree86 it will be like shooting
- myself on the foot which I am not going to do.
-
- Also, I want to call to the attention of the netters that the
- ATI Ultra needs someone to further push the development.
- As it sits over at sunvis from a development perspective is
- collecting dust till someone picks it up and runs it.
-
-
- Last but not least, lets clear the air around here is full of politics,
- is not getting to be be fun, and is Christmas.
