  12. I've been trying to install x3270 under OpenWindows.  While the
  13. process of installing the fonts is nicely summarized by Buzz
  14. Moschetti in a posting from November, I have a problem not
  15. anticipated in his discussion.

  17. If I install the fonts in a working directory, and then add that
  18. directory to the font path, then x3270 finds the 3270 font without
  19. any problem.  But, if I install the font in $OPENWINHOME/lib/fonts,
  20. with the rest of the OW fonts, both x3270 and xfd come up with
  21. LucidaSans-Bold instead of 3270 for a font.  Naturally this isn't a
  22. very good substitution, because the symbol vectors are radically
  23. different.

  25. Any ideas?  Barring ideas, where would I find documentation of the
  26. contents and format of the table files Compat.list, Synonyms.list,
  27. and Families.list?  Is there a definition document for BDF fonts?
