  23. Running 800x600 16 colors will work on any VGA card I've ever
  24. tried.  The trick is to get them to run in the higher resolutions.

  26. I've never had any luck with cards running the ET-4000 chipset
  27. unless it's specifically defined in the grafinfo database.  I
  28. spent at least a half-day with one card trying all combinations
  29. of every grafinfo file with the ET-4000.  Many times it required
  30. doing an ALT-F1 and logging in and shutting down on a very
  31. scrambled screen when the definition was way off :-).

  33. My solution is to buy a card that I know works, and save myself a
  34. lot of grief (now if I could only justify an ATI ultra...:-).
