- Go with either a BusLogic 542 (used to be BusTek) or an Adaptec 1542.
- I use a BusTek 742A, the eisa version, and have had absolutely no
- problems with it. BusLogic upgraded the firmware for me for free when I
- called, and I wasn't even the original owner.
-
- Some people think the BusLogic cards are faster than the Adaptecs, but
- since I haven't done a head-to-head test, I can't really say. On the
- eisa bus, copying a multi-megabyte file from one filesystem to another
- (on different disks) twice *flies*. That is, from disk1 to disk2 and
- from disk3 to disk4, all at the same time.
-
- I'm running ISC 3.2 V3 here, soon to be moving to Destiny. Booted
- under DOS5, aspi compliant software works just fine.
