- Linux is a free UNIX for 386/486 computers. Never having used any other PC
- UNIX, I cannot tell how it compares to others, but I am very impressed by
- it. You can FTP it from tsx-11.mit.edu, sunsite.unc.edu, or
- wuarchive.wustl.edu. There are numerous other FTP sites, but I don't know
- any of them offhand.
-
- If you plan on installing Linux, I would highly recommend the SLS
- distribution, which will give you a fairly complete base system including
- many utilities and X/Windows.
-
- The newsgroup comp.os.liunx, if you get it, is the place to ask questions
- about Linux.
-
- Hope this helps!
