  24. I find the following statement in README.xlc, where it states that it
  25. also can apply to xlp and xlf.  It's not in README.xlf, and I've no idea
  26. whether it could apply to an error in fpp.  Is your paging space low?

  28.  6) RUNNING LOW ON PAGE SPACE:  If AIX runs low on page space during
  29.     a compilation, the compiler tries to issue the message
  30.     "1501-229 Compilation ended due to lack of space".
  31.     However, in some cases the compiler may issue the message
  32.     "1501-224 fatal error in X: signal 9 received",
  33.     where X is either /usr/lpp/xlf/bin/xlfentry, /usr/lpp/xlc/bin/xlcentry,
