  11. We experienced a similiar problem when moving the console from the lab up to my
  12. office on the 5th floor.  The console receives messages very regularly during
  13. the day, and the machine seemed to become really confused when the console
  14. disappeared from tty0.  Anything we tried to do at that point resulted in a
  15. message to the effect, System Resource Controller unable to allocate any more
  16. resources.

  18. After this we've been very careful about performing maintenance or moving the
  19. console.  Now whenever we want to do something of this nature we chcons to a
  20. file in /tmp.  This works fine and saves massive headaches later.  The problem
  21. we experienced was on AIX 3.1.7 and it seems that 3.2.2 handles this situation
  22. a little more gracefully, but don't quote me on that.
