- We have a SUN using NFS to mount Bryn Mawr College's home
- user directories. However, if the link between our two
- colleges goes down, it is very frustrating that out machine
- grinds to a halt of sorts because of all the time wasted
- looking for the other machine.
-
- Is there anyone out there with suggestions for dealing with
- this? I am personally contemplating writing a C program
- to be run by CRON to unmount the other college's directories
- when the link fails. And then remount them later?
-
- Is this a good idea? Am I reinventing the wheel so to speak,
- i.e. has this already been done?`
-
-
- Thanks for any help,
- Erik
