- | I just got a new Indigo with a 1.2 GByte Systemdisk with 4.0.5F.
- | On the disk are 3 Partitions for Swap, / and /usr. The /usr-Partition
- | is very big (1 GB).
- | I use FX to reduce the /usr Partition and add Partition 11 and 12.
- |
- | After Installing a new System, I can't mount Partition 11 and 12.
-
- We don't create entries in /dev for those normally, as we never
- use them and creating all possible partitions for all disk devices
- uses up just about all the inodes on /. The normally created
- partitions are 0,1,6,7,8 (vh), and 10 (vol). You could use 7,
- but you would still need one more, so you will have to make the
- extra devices in /dev/dsk and /dev/rdsk. See /dev/MAKEDEV (search
- for dsk) for how to figure out the minor numbers for these partitions.
-
- Old versions of IRIX would trash those devices on new s/w installs
- and upgrades, but current versions no longer have this problem.
