- DEC's tcp/ip now does on the fly conversion. This did cause me one problem
- by throwing away the first character in a file with FORTRAN CARRIAGE CONTROL
- (correctly so I think, but still) when reading a formatted direct access file
- on the Unix system. Files don't have to be stream_lf to be read / listed corectly
- now. You may be able to get UCX/tcpip very cheaply through DECcampus
