- A colleague of mine at a major (=Ivy) university in New Haven, CT
- has a problem. At this university, they charge a monthly fee ($20)
- for EACH net connection. This colleague just got an Indigo and
- he would like to hook it up to the net, and can afford the yearly
- charges, BUT he also wants to use 4 Macintoshes in his lab as
- X-terminals off of his Indigo. Is there any way that ONLY the Indigo
- is DIRECTLY connected to the net and the Mac's are just connected
- to the X-server (=Indigo) so he can avoid the connect fees? I haven't
- used SLIP, but I would expect fairly poor X-performance compared
- to Ethernet.
-
- I told you this was a STRANGE request :-)
-
- Thanks.
