  11.     We are seeing some errors on an Indigo RPC running IRIXv4.0.1
  12. which appear to be related to the SIMMS.  It is crashing regularly
  13. (several times per day).  It is not convenient to do chip-by-chip
  14. testing so I thought I would ask the opinion of the list.  We have
  15. four 4M SIMM chips in one bank for 16M of memory.

  17.     Note that we have had this Indigo for about a year (maintenance
  18. contract just ran out) and this started happening after it was shutdown
  19. and power cycled.  Here are some excerpts from the SYSLOG (no other 
  20. interesting messages) after two different crashes:

  26.     Is there a test in diag mode for checking them?  It passes the
  27. default test without problems.  Is there a convenient way to identify
  28. the faulty chip other than swapping them one-at-a-time?
