- Hi there. We currently have about 8 computers hooked into a Novell 3.11
- network. The server is a 486/66 and the (windows) workstations are 386/33's
- or better. We wish to optimize Windows 3.1 for this environment, and I'm
- looking for people's suggestions and experiences regarding making a decision
- of how to install Windows. Microsoft recommends either (1) all files on each
- workstation, (2) system files on the server, personal files on the workstation,
- and (3) all files on the server with subdirectories for each workstation.
- I've read Microsoft's standard explanation of the pro's and cons, so I'm
- looking more for specific and/or experience-based suggestions that result in
- (as far as maintenance as well as installation and general performance) an
- optimal setup.
-
- Any input regarding this situation would be greatly appreciated!!, but
- please respond via mail!
