- One last appeal on this subject:
-
- Does anyone know for a fact whether
-
- (1) the Text class *is* capable of doing automatic horizontal scrolling (i.e.
- when you type past the end of the frame it updates the Text objects frame)
-
- or
-
- (2) the Text class *is* not capable of doing automatic horizontal scrolling?
-
- There is a suspicious lack of any example programs that have editable
- horizontally scrolling windows. The fact that all NeXT documentation
- shows only vertically scrollable Text windows scares me.
-
- If indeed the Text class can do horizontal scrolling, any pointers to
- sample code would be incredibly appreciated. Merely changing the scrolling
- Text code in the Concepts manual does *not* work. It produces precisely
- the set of symptoms mentioned in earlier posts. (i.e. the system responds
- properly for the 1st line of text and ignores the rest for purposes of
- changing the frame rectangle.) There may be some examples on ftp sites
- that I am unaware of, since I've been programming the NeXT for only a little
- over a month.
-
- Anyway, thanks in advance once again. I'm very grateful for any
- responses.
