  11. I am looking into a 486 system for home use that I will be able to  
  12. use NS486 on when it comes out. I thought that this would be a simple  
  13. purchase. Ugh! Now I remember why I abandoned PCs 3 years ago to  
  14. purchase a real NeXT! Trying to spec out a system now that I am  
  15. confident will run NS486 next year is a nightmare. First, it is  
  16. difficult to get a "fact sheet" that is factual about what is needed.  
  17. There are some incredible discussions going on in the intel and ibm  
  18. newgroups about NS486. That is the good news, they certainly are  
  19. aware of it and are interested!. The big discussion right now is the  
  20. Cyrix 486SLC chip versus "real" 486SX & 486DX chips. There is also  
  21. confusion about video cards and bus requirements.

  23. If anyone in NeXT_Land can provide a clear statement about hardware  
  24. requirements for NS486, it would be a huge contribution.
