- The finder reports the exact number of bytes and then says "n K on
- disk". The "on disk" number is the exact number of bytes rounded up
- to the nearest "allocation block". So I have small files on my disk,
- but my allocation block (the smallest increment of trackable space on
- the disk) is 3K so I'll see "45 bytes, 3K on disk". Any file size
- between 3072 bytes and 6144 bytes will be reported as "6K on disk".
- When you get a large aggregation of files together, you may get the
- numbers you describe.
