- I have them stumped though on an AD 2.0 problem with my Mac SE. I am running
- 6.0.7 without MultiFinder. Basically what happens is AD will never quit
- scanning! If I set the delay to 3 minutes it will start the scan on schedule
- and display the scanning icon as it should. It takes roughly 10 minutes to
- scan my 100 meg external Quantum for potential files to scan. When complete
- it immediately starts scanning again with no scanning icon visible. Once this
- starts it never stops until I hit a key or move the mouse. Checking the AD
- control panel usually shows a future scheduled scan as one would expect, but
- it never really gets to this since it never stops scanning.
-
- This problem is driving me and 5th generation nuts. I have tried everthing
- they suggested so far inlcuding re-installation, runnning a heap fixer
- program (Bootman) and killing all inits excpet AD/DD. No luck yet!
-
-
- I have posted on EXACTLY the same subject to comp.sys.mac.apps (or maybe system)
- anyway the same thing is happening to me, exactly the same symptoms.
-
- So far I have...
-
- 1) Rebuilt desktop (ater using ResEdit to make visible + trashing old desktop)
-
- 2) Removed AD and re-installed, repeat 1)
-
- 3) Called 5th Generation.
-
- 4) Deleted hidden AD file using ResEdit to make visible etc, go back to 1)
-
- 5) repeat stages 1,4,2 in that order.
-
- 6) Repeat all stages without re-installing AD, back up to floppys,
- ERASE hard drive, re-install AD.
-
- The problem persists. I have System 6.0.7, crash barrier, after dark hierDA,
- appolo and a few others. Symptoms appeared 2 weeks after upgrade to 2.0.
-
- Any suggestions could be useful,
-
