  32. Why don't we compare how many Apples and its clones sold vs. IBM and
  33. its clones sold?  |-\    (For those who don't know, Apple has no clones.)

  35. IBM is no longer a market leader in the market it created.  Therefore, the
  36. fact that Apple outsold IBM in microcomputers means little.  The PC clone
  37. market shadows both IBM *AND* Apple in sales of micros.

  39. IBM is an enormous company.  PC's certainly are not their mainstay, and until
  40. recently, they largely ignored the PC realm.  Mainframes are where they make
  41. (made) their money, and since computers are now smaller and faster, mainframes
  42. are becoming less and less useful in the big picture.
