  15. I think others might be interested in what I found so I give a response:

  17. a) AWK which is a pattern scanning and processing language (by Aho,
  18. Kerningham, Weinberger) is available as GNU implementation (GNU = GNU is
  19. not Un*X). And although GNU does not directly support Apple products (due
  20. to the "look and feel lawsuits") some hacker used the free source code and
  21. ported it to the Macintosh.
  22. Look for MacGAWK (Mac GNU-AWK).

  24. b) Sad to say that X-Archie (a very fast and good archie client for
  25. UniX/X-windows machines) is not available for the Mac. But there is a beta
  26. release of a shareware archie-client.
