  29. Because they *are* competing for the PC market with different flavors
  30. of cheaper Macs. It's the same reason why the idea of 'you can get any
  31. color, so long as it's black" won't work now. People have different
  32. wants, requirements, budgets, and it is in Apple's best interests
  33. to aim for those markets. The speed at which technology advances is
  34. really incredible- the 040 followed the 030 much faster than the 030
  35. followed the 020, yet with incrementally vaster power. Pretty amazing.
