  21. Sure. But there is no market clout behind these platforms - in other words, I
  22. won't be able to buy Alpha or R4000 hardware systems without a major hassle,
  23. and getting shrinkwrapped binaries (software) for them will be near
  24. impossible, and EXPENSIVE, while IBM and Apple will be selling the PowerPC's,
  25. which I will be able to buy, easily.

  27. No, it's going to be Intel vs. PowerPC. NT ports to other CPUs are smoke and
  28. mirror market hype from Wild Wille & Co.

  30. It will be interesting to see if IBM can win the long-term war with Microsoft.
  31. They really do have a lot bigger R&D budget, and sooner or later Bill Gates is
  32. going to lose his focus. One guy can only do it for so long.
