  14. From my meager understanding of the Performas, the system software (7.1P)
  15. was made to make is easier to use than regular system 7.  It was found that
  16. when multiple applications were open, the screen clutter was too confusing
  17. for most people so the changed the system software so that when you launch
  18. a new application, the others (inclusing Finder) went into the background
  19. and were forced to "hide".  In theory, you need to go to the application
  20. menu (the upper right hand side of the menu bar) and select another app.

  22. But, I've never played with one...just remembering what the literature
  23. explained.

  25. By the way, you CAN load the "real" system 7.1 software if you'd like,
  26. but you'll have to pay for the upgrade like everyone else.
