- We're talking about a 2 millisecond average seek time
- difference. That's very, very small. Also don't forget the
- VESA slot will be running at processor speed while the EISA
- slot is going to be 8.33 Mhz.

- My UltraStor 34F VL-Bus host adapter has a maximum throughput
- of 66 MB/sec. My micronics motherboard has a built in rapid
- ide controller on it. If it is used in conjunction with a new
- Western Digitial or Quantum drive that can take advantage of
- the rapid ide interface you should get better
- performance than with a SCSI HA (in a single user, single
- drive system) because there is no SCSI protocol overhead.
