- HI,
- I have been upgradeing an XT to AT machine {Not an easy task}. I took
- the original 10 MEG Tandon drive and put it with the AT contoller and set the
- whole machine up. We later upgraded to a 32MEG drive and As part of payment I
- get the 10MEG HD. Now I will be putting this back into a XT machine and will
- need to know the correct steps to reformat and make the drive work with the
- XT. It will not be as easy to do as an AT since there is no CMOS or AT
- Diagonistics. I SURE that all the equipment that I will be using is IBM
- original and will work. The HD card is a Full lenght card with the following
- Identifaction numbers:
- IBM 1816101
- IBM5004403
- Made in the USA on MAY 16, '84.
-
- How would I format the drive? My guess would be the ROM VIA an address like
- c800:????. Anyone know? What interleave would be the best?
-
-
- Any help would be appreciated!
- Thanks...
- John
