-
- Here is an article I posted not long ago.
-
- The vertical scan freq is from 50-90Hz.
-
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
- I just got this baby in for more than $800, worth the money, I say.
-
- 17", flat screen, .28 pitch, 1280x1024 NI, digital control, memory for
- different video modes, etc, and you can actually use the entire display
- area (no black borders) of the screen.
-
- The way it works is when you go into a "new" mode (or unprogrammed mode),
- which the monitor detects by seeing how many vertical scan lines there are
- (hence the 400 line text mode will look the same as the 320x200 doublescan
- [doublescan 200 = 400] to the monitor). And then the monitor will assign
- it a new mode number which is digitally displayed in the control panel
- (with door). You digitally size and position both horizontally and
- vertically until the image cover the entire screen area (no black border),
- or to whatever size and position you like, and that is it. 15 modes
- are available.
-
- The next time you go into that same mode, the monitor will switch to that
- mode and display it according to the position and size you set privously.
- I set one for 400line, 600line (800x600), and 768line, and will set one
- for 1024line as soon as I get a 1280x1024 card.
-
- The picture is not 100% absolutely rectangular, in that all the borders
- are straight lines, but which monitor is. It is pretty sharp and stable
- in 1024x768NI, and the picture is great with .28 dot pitch. I had
- considered settling for a .31 pitch, but the difference is unacceptable
- since I had previously use a .28 pitch NI smaller monitor.
-
- This is my first digital control monitor, and I had previously thought
- of the "digital control" as gemick, but no longer do. Digital control
- with memory allows you to customize size and position for different
- video mode, and this one is great since you get to use the entire screen
- with any waste to black border.
-
- Oh, it comes with cabling for Mac also. (Darn!)
-
- Did I get a good deal or what?
