  13. I would appreciate some assistance:

  15. My Acer Monitor has a strange problem.  When I start up the computer, it
  16. refuses to display 800x600x32k.  My Windows (set up for 32k colors)
  17. startup screen will be displayed, then when the ProgMan screen comes up,
  18. it goes black.  There is a transient image that darkens as if someone is
  19. turning down the brightness very quickly.  After 5-10 minutes of warming
  20. up (depends on how cold or hot a day it is) the image pops back onto
  21. screen in all its 32k glory.  All adjusting and fidgeting will not help
  22. the situation before it has had the time to warm up.

  24. Someone suggested that the problem is with 800x600 and not the 32k.
  25. Well, I've checked and it ain't so.  The Windows SVGA driver will work
  26. fine meaning that 800x600x16 is ok even if its a freezing night (in
  27. Singapore, about as often as a camel in the desert).

  29. Anyway, I would appreciate advice from anyone who's witnessed similar
  30. problems before or knows what the likely cause is.  Email is preferred
  31. since this group moves so quickly I might miss a post.
