- I would appreciate some assistance:
-
- My Acer Monitor has a strange problem. When I start up the computer, it
- refuses to display 800x600x32k. My Windows (set up for 32k colors)
- startup screen will be displayed, then when the ProgMan screen comes up,
- it goes black. There is a transient image that darkens as if someone is
- turning down the brightness very quickly. After 5-10 minutes of warming
- up (depends on how cold or hot a day it is) the image pops back onto
- screen in all its 32k glory. All adjusting and fidgeting will not help
- the situation before it has had the time to warm up.
-
- Someone suggested that the problem is with 800x600 and not the 32k.
- Well, I've checked and it ain't so. The Windows SVGA driver will work
- fine meaning that 800x600x16 is ok even if its a freezing night (in
- Singapore, about as often as a camel in the desert).
-
- Anyway, I would appreciate advice from anyone who's witnessed similar
- problems before or knows what the likely cause is. Email is preferred
- since this group moves so quickly I might miss a post.
-
- Thanks in advance
