- Well, since nobody responded, I will follow up on my own article. I called up
- several local distributors and finally nailed down 2 that can order one for me
- apparantly from Arizona. Unfortunately I have to pay the NJ state sales tax on
- this purchase. That's OK. But they do NOT accept credit card payment. Rather I
- have to pay COD. Now, that makes me uncomfortable, since then I sill not have
- the protection of my credit card company, and frankly, I have never heard
- anything about these dealers before.
-
- What is worse, one mention that they have a "10 days dead on arrival" policy.
- This doesn't sound good to me!! So I guess I am asking for advice on whether
- COD is OK or not? Do I get any protection (legal or otherwise) that I can
- resort to if anything goes wrong? Does the "10 days dead on arrival" policy
- smells foul to you? (Oh, apparently it means I have 10 days to check around
- this monitor after I received it, and they will replace it if it is defective.
- But otherwise, no return what so ever. By the way, the local distributor is
- called "Avnet Computer" and I suppose they deal in the Eastern US (and NJ in
- particular.) Any bad experiences with this local distributor?
-
- Thanks -- John
