- Can you please discuss more about your long story (If you do not want
- to post it here, then you can directly mail it to me). I am very much
- interested to know the exact nature of the problem that you have
- encountered with 7213A drive. I was unable to relate the "stability
- problem" with the noise that you mentioned.
-
- I recenty purchased a 7213A and it looks to me that it is a nice
- drive, the noise level is acceptable to me. The noise level is much
- less than the 7080A, which I owned for about an year. I was very
- satisfied with 7080A and thought that 7213A would be a better choice
- than WD2200. I also asked several people (local and net) about these
- two drives and almost every one voted for 7213A. Did I make a mistake
- ? I want to know other peoples (preferably who owned a 7213A drive for
- a reasoable amount of time) opinion about it. I still have 21 days
- left to get my money back or replace it with a WD2200. I know the
- WD2200 is little faster, but that is not the only factor that
- determines which one is a better drive. Also, I am not too concerned
- about the noise level, because each drive has its own type of usual
- running noise (unless it is due to some defective parts, and in that
- case you will probably notice read/write errors too). I want a drive
- that will give me trouble free operation and with a low failure rate.
- So, which one is better: 7213A or WD2200 ?
