- Windows 3.1 supports the 16550 UART within Windows but, at least in
- its original form, does not support the 16550 in DOS sessions in 386
- enhanced mode. Microsoft said they would release an updated comm.drv
- that would fix this. That was ages ago when Windows 3.1 was originally
- released. I have not since heard anything about this updated driver.
- Does anyone know if they in fact DID update the driver to support 16550
- UARTS in DOS sessions? If so, where can I find it?
