- You can unplug an 8250 (or 16450), plug in a 16550AFN, and it'll work
- just fine. If your software supports the 16550A you'll get the extra
- advantage of the buffer.

- The chips are as pin for pin compatible as they need to be. If we
- want to be anal about it, the 16550 does have some extra functions on
- pins that aren't used on the 8250, but that's not a problem.
