  12. Hello,
  13.         I have a simple question.  My brother-in-law was given
  14. one of those old Compaq "portables".  I don't know much about it
  15. except that it is an 8088 w/ a 10Meg HD and a 5 1/4" floppy.  It has
  16. one of those built in 4" monochrome monitors.  I would like to
  17. buy him a used 13" monitor for a present, BUT (and here's the
  18. question) will this work?
  19.         Since I've never opened the box, I don't know how the built
  20. in monitor is driven.  Is there a video card that I can disconnect
  21. the built-in monitor from so I can plug in a external monitor?
  22. Assuming there is a card, what type is it? Is it Hercules?
