- Hello,
- I have a simple question. My brother-in-law was given
- one of those old Compaq "portables". I don't know much about it
- except that it is an 8088 w/ a 10Meg HD and a 5 1/4" floppy. It has
- one of those built in 4" monochrome monitors. I would like to
- buy him a used 13" monitor for a present, BUT (and here's the
- question) will this work?
- Since I've never opened the box, I don't know how the built
- in monitor is driven. Is there a video card that I can disconnect
- the built-in monitor from so I can plug in a external monitor?
- Assuming there is a card, what type is it? Is it Hercules?
-
- (I guess I asked more than 1 question!)
-
- Thanks for any help!
