- This isn't a weird problem, it's a weird feature :-) .

- The PVRX graphics accelerator was designed to accelerate 3D graphics
- (i.e. Starbase and PHIGS). It's X performance suffers relative to the
- lower cost VRX (A1416A) graphics card which was designed for peak 2D (X)
- performance at is price point. Personally this strikes me too as strange.

- Post the PVRX's development this odd inversion of X price/performance
- has been eliminated in the HP graphics line. If you buy one of the CRX
- graphics family devices (GRX, CRX, CRX24, CRX24Z, CRX48Z) you will find
- that X performance is very consistent along the line (on an equal SPU).
- What increases are graphics framebuffer features (e.g. 24 planes, overlays,
- hardware colormaps) and 3D rendering performance (in the case of the "Z"
- products).
