- I hate to admit this, but I still have a VAXmate at home. I recently
- bought a Hard Card II XL 50 meg disk from Quantum and have been trying
- to install it, but with little success. I've tried altering the BIOS and
- I/O addresses but to no avail.
-
- Techniucal Support at Quantum have suggested that the power supply in
- the expansion box for the VAXmate is not powerful enough to drive two
- hard disks. I shall try disabling the original tonight to verify this.
-
- My question is, has anyone out there successfully tried this and if so,
- what did you do to get it to work?? Does anyone know if there is an
- alternative power supply I could install, either internally or
- externally? I should add that my budget is limited!
-
- Any help much appreciated and best sent via e-mail to a.c.arnold@mcc.ac.uk
