- The problem sounds like the same one I had when I got my 1581, the cause is the
- pin as was mentioned. To find out for sure, unhook all your I/O devices (1541
- II's, tape drive--which, BTW, will cause the problem you describe) and then
- hook up only the 1581. If it still doesn't work, it's prob'ly just plain
- broke. If not, hook up everything one-by-one and see what works with it. If
- it locks up, the pin is the problem. If you can't do without the devices it
- won't work with (mine was the tape drive, no big loss) put the 1581 last in the
- daisy chain and snip the pin (FAST serial, whichever one that is). Everything
- should work. Note you may not be able to use an 1581 utilities (like
- fastloaders) that make use of this pin.
