- I dunno if it's so much a loyalty to the *company* as it is familiarity
- with the company's products. I liked using the Atari 8-bit, thus I
- would make the assumption that I would probably like using the Atari 16-bit,
- and so would probably check it out before some other machine. Of course,
- at that point, it is up to the person to decide whether than machine
- will satisfy the needs of the user. And yes, I have a 256k 800xl sitting
- in the closet as sort of a "backup" system in case my MegaSTe goes down
- for some reason.
-
- The same process would explain why I didn't get an Amiga. I have never
- owned a Commodore product, nor have I really used one (other than a
- VIC-20) so I am not familiar with their system, and such never gained
- a strong opinion of the quality of their products. Not that I'd turn
- down a gift of one, mind you :-)
-
- And thus can be explained why I did finally get a 286 - I was familiar
- with PC's (i.e. at school, etc.) and did want some compatibilty with
- some school/work stuff. And the fact that I got the whole system
- for $50 didn't hurt either :-)

- 'cos we're rebels :-)
-
- Besides, Ataris (IMHO) are more *fun* to use...
