- (1) Yes, Lemmings is available for the ST. As a matter of fact "More
- Lemmings" is also available for it.
-
- (2) A 520ST originally came with 512K RAM. A 1040ST originally came
- with 1 Meg. RAM. There are various RAM expansion kits available, so
- it's possible a 520 or 1040 could be upgraded to 2 or 4 Megs. RAM.
- This is especially true of the STe line. The local dealer here in Ft.
- Collins, CO. used to get 520STe's and then just upgrade them to the
- RAM that the buyer wanted, like 2 or 4 Megs. What you may also be
- interested in looking into is what version of TOS the ST you're
- considering has installed in it. The OS on STs comes in ROM. Some
- software is only compatible with certain versions of the OS,
- unfortunately. Sometimes this was Atari's fault. Most often times it
- was the software developer's fault (or because of naivete about the
- OS. For a long time the developer's kit was only available to
- commercial developers). It is possible to upgrade the TOS ROMs. Any
- ST user can upgrade to one of the most recent versions, TOS 2.06.
- There is an upgrade kit available from one of the 3rd-party ST
- developers, called the TEC Card.
-
- (3) Better than that, there is a catalog from Atari that just came out
- recently which lists commercial software available for the ST/STe/TT.
- I don't remember how one gets it. It was in one of the Atari Explorer
- Online issues I read some time back. Anyone on here know?
-
- (4) I couldn't tell ya. I haven't ordered my software by mail since
- there's a dealer in town. I know that's unusual, and I've been
- fortunate, but that's just my experience. The dealer in town does
- mail order and its prices are competitive with other mail order
- places. If you'd like I could give you their 800 number. I don't
- have it on me right now.
-
- (5) Hmm. Maybe. I think the FAQ for this newsgroup was posted a
- while back.
