- Hi folks !
-
- Yesterday I took a look inside all my collected articles for the ATARI
- 8bitters. I remembered the good old times with ANALOG, ANTIC, ATARImagazin
- and many more mags for the ATARIs.
- And an idea was born.
- Okay, there are several 8bitter (semi-)professionals out there still working
- with these computers. There are several people out there owning one of those
- little ATARIs. But there is a leck of new and good software, exellent hardware
- magazins and books for the 400/800/600XL/800XL/130XE/65XE/1200XL/1400XL/1450XL.
-
- There were quite a lot good descriptions of os abilities and hardware in
- this good old times. But these times are gone. Where are the sources for
- 'new' programmers and hardware freaks? If you don't have any books or old
- magazines, you're like a swimmer without water.
- Okay, there are a few magazines out there today, but they do not come to
- too many of you...
- Why don't put all of you, who have some knowledge about whatever (concerning
- the ATARI 8bitters), it in an ATARI 8bit nuewsgroup as some kind of articles.
- But please think of this. In this newsgroup comp.sys.atari.8bit a lot of
- postings are set in per day. Those artcles won't get to the right people.
- So why don't found a NEW newsgroup, maybe called comp.sys.atari.8bit.archive
- with a moderator for it, who posts regularly good stuff about these computers.
- So everbody who wants to, is able to get the knowledge about programming the
- XL/XE and its hardware. Maybe it would be an idea worth to think about to
- talk to the people who made the ATARI magazines and ask about re-publish
- articles from this magazins in this new newsgroup.
-
- Problems are
- -found a new newsgroup
- -find a lot of freaks to write the articles
- -find a moderator (At this moment I have not the time for it but maybe in
- 6 month)
- -cooperate with the atari archive to put software down there which demonstrate
- things explained in this articles
- -get things started
-
- Note: I don't mean to put software in this newsgroup. There is an archive site
- for that. Just descriptions of ...

-
- Please don't say nothing. Write down your opinion and post it.
- Maybe the 8bitters are able to make things become true...
-
- I'm first: I have a large number of good articles and books at home.
- If this newsgroup will be there, I will post several articles
- there.
