-
- Well, the version I just pulled off of ftp.apple.com (ProDOS File
- System v1.2) *is* compatible with System 7.1, and even adds the
- option of formatting ProDOS disks in the Finder!
-
- The only surprise came when I used AccessPC (2.0) with ProDOS File
- System 1.2. Selecting "Erase Disk" or inserting a new disk in the
- Finder with both extensions loaded causes AccessPC's Format dialog
- to come up; if "Mac" is selected, then the ProDOS File System format
- dialog appears, asking for a selection of either ProDOS or Mac.
- It makes sense when one considers that the ProDOS File System's
- format dialog replaces the standard format dialog, but it still
- was a surprise nonetheless.
-
- Floppies of all three types format and mount successfully, except
- in one case: the new ProDOS File System INIT removes the ability
- to format 400K Mac disks. Not a severe limitation IMHO, but you
- should consider this if it's important to you.
