- No experience with UM, however, ProSel warns you to have a backup
- before using the Fix mode. It is good advice.

- It is the nature of a HD to fail. It is bound to happen and one needs
- to plan for that day. For my application I keep the programs in one
- partition and data in another.
-
- The programs can be replaced from the source disks at any time so don't
- need to be backed up. (This assumes that you can remember just what you
- had installed and what defaults you had set for each, etc., etc., not
- an easy task in most cases so one might consider backing up "problem"
- programs i.e., AppleWorks Classic that has been modified to death in
- who knows what order - however, it works.)
-
- If I decide to not back up the data then I have to accept the reality
- that it will go down the tube at some point in time.
-
- As to the cost of 3.5" disks: MEI/Micro Center 1-800-634-3478 has them
- for $.39 ea in lots of 25.

-
- See your ProSel docs for what each item means. In this case the:
- "Block Free" message is pretty good news. It means that the block is
- marked free in error. Run ProSel in the fix mode and those will
- disappear. As to the "problem" files, see the ProSel docs for the
- "secret" way to delete problem files.
-
- If ProSel fixes your problems I'd consider deep sixing UM.
