- This sounds to me *very* much like a hardware problem. I don't know of any
- changes to the system software from 5.0.4 to 6.0 that would cause this kind
- of problem, or any change from 6.0 to 6.0.1-in-progress that would solve
- them.

- --Contact your hard drive manufacturer to see if other users are
- having similar problems & whether they have any suggestions

- --If you're so inclined, revert to 5.0.4 temporarily and see if the
- problems *really* go away
