- Well, if you don't have access to c.binaries.a2, do you have FTP
- access? All the binaries postings are archived at several FTP sites,
- including plains.nodak.edu, wuarchive.wustl.edu, and cco.caltech.edu.
- Perhaps a separate directory could be set up at one of the sites for
- GEnieLamp.
-
- The reason GEnieLamp (GL) will continue to be posted to c.b.a2 as
- opposed to c.s.a2 is that it takes up just slightly over half the
- space. (If we were allowed to post the edited version, meaning all
- the dumb little GEnie Quik Quotes and other fluff is gone, then I
- would still post it to c.s.a2). The problem is that some sites don't
- have a lot of disk space and Shrinking GL and posting it to c.b.a2
- solves that problem.
-
- The other solution if you don't have FTP access is to use ftp-mail.
- I'm not sure how it works since I have the privilege of FTP access,
- but there should be newsgroups or informed people on this group who
- can fill you in on the details. I'm trying to accomodate everyone
- with GL postings but some of the requests are mutually exclusive so I
- have to choose the ones that benefit the most people.
