- It does. Amiga UNIX 2.1 comes with MIT X11R4 binaries & source, and
- with the MIT X11R5 source as a bonus. Lots of PD X11 stuff is bundled
- as well to save you some FTP'ing. The X11R5 package needs some work
- and the latest patches, though. While Amiga UNIX does have the AT&T
- Open Look widget set and window manager, it doesn't have X/NeWS, which
- includes Sun's X11 + Display Postscript server. It has the generic MIT
- X11 server with Amiga-specific backends. It works well enough on my
- A3000/25 w/8Mb that I sometimes develop widgets for work at home.
-
- By the way, it's not a simple "grab and compile" to get X11 up on any
- machine. Writing the machine-dependent portion of the X11 server can
- be a real pain.
-
- GfxBase's product is X11R4 for AmigaDOS, which is not available from
- Commodore. From all accounts, it is an excellent product.
