  23. It does.  Amiga UNIX 2.1 comes with MIT X11R4 binaries & source, and
  24. with the MIT X11R5 source as a bonus.  Lots of PD X11 stuff is bundled
  25. as well to save you some FTP'ing.  The X11R5 package needs some work
  26. and the latest patches, though.  While Amiga UNIX does have the AT&T
  27. Open Look widget set and window manager, it doesn't have X/NeWS, which
  28. includes Sun's X11 + Display Postscript server.  It has the generic MIT
  29. X11 server with Amiga-specific backends.  It works well enough on my
  30. A3000/25 w/8Mb that I sometimes develop widgets for work at home.

  32. By the way, it's not a simple "grab and compile" to get X11 up on any
  33. machine.  Writing the machine-dependent portion of the X11 server can
  34. be a real pain.

  36. GfxBase's product is X11R4 for AmigaDOS, which is not available from
  37. Commodore.  From all accounts, it is an excellent product.
