- Since I got a few replies like "just do it", I need
- to explain why it doesn't work on my DeskJet 500.
-
- The DeskJet 500 has a special escape code that you
- send to the printer to tell it is an envelope. I
- tried to just load an envelope and print it from
- Final Copy. But the envelope would slip and go
- crooked. That is because Final Copy must send an
- escape code telling it is paper! I also tried setting
- the dip switches and it wouldn't work since software
- commands override the hardware settings.
-
- I did try printing out envelopes from a shareware
- program Addresser and it worked okay. But I would
- like to use Final Copy since it has all those nice
- fonts! I suppose I could hack up something with
- DJHelper. But I'm wondering if Final Copy's
- escape code telling it is paper would override
- by what I set up with DJHelper.
-
- I suppose an ARexx script wouldn't help here either...
-
- Any ideas?
-
- Thanks, Clare
