- Well, I managed to survive down to 8F (-13C for you lazy Euros... :>) when
- my furnace died 2 years ago during one of Seattle's worst snowstorms.
- Was quite an experience taking a shower and other bathroom needs...and
- avoiding hypothermia while sleeping. (ate LOTS of pasta! And tea was a
- staple!) It's a clairvoyant furnace, BTW, always knows when a rough winter
- is coming and croaks rather than works. :< (Yes, this year is looking to
- its NEXT bout of snow in a day or two - and last weeks just melted.. :<)
-
- Poor cats...their water dish was always crusting over and I had to keep
- refilling it every couple of hours. (Kept the water in the refrigerator,
- where it was *warm*. That's the only reason I didn't bother to shut it
- off. :>)
-
- Your fingers get cold, but that's what thighs are for... (and you thought
- they were useful for *other* things! ;>) And, of course, the windchill
- factor from walking down the hallway at 3-4 mph (that's 4.8-6.7 kmph) had
- to be taken into consideration! :>
-
- Try it sometime! If for no other reason than for the stories you could
- tell! :>
