- In addition, you are not specifying a path for the file, which indicates a
- harddisk installation (this means the file must be in the current
- directory.) On a floppy disk installation you should specify the entry
- to use KingFisher-1:Name.Index -- this may require removing the .doc files
- from that volume if you kept them there.

- When the record count of Fish.Index (16 bytes each) and the line count in
- Name.Index are not equal, KingFisher complains. You can still make use of
- the name search, but the results may not be reliable.

-
- KingFisher only writes to the .config file information that it knows about.
- If this entry is missing then it was missing from the original, too. My
- guess would be a typo. Find the line 'FishIndexFile=Fish.Index' and model
- the 'NameIndexFile=Name.Index' after that one. One will follow the other
- in the .config file when everything is ok.
-
- Another important bit is that you perform the fix to the database, either
- by hand or using the FixKFData program supplied with version 1.1 -- without
- this fix, the program may continue to experience problems relating to the
- Name index.
-
- Please read the documentation -- everything is explained (perhaps with more
- words than necessary) in there.
-
- If this does not help, please contact me via email and we'll figure out
- what is going on!
